Whether you're visiting St. Croix or a local looking for fun nighttime activities, you're in luck! Below, we'll share the best things to do on St. Croix at night for couples, singles, families, and friends.
While St. Croix isn’t known for its lively nightlife, there are many fun things to do at night. If you’re looking for more of a night scene, St. Thomas might be a better option. That said, there are many fun things to see and do after dark on St. Croix, like watching the sunset, enjoying dinner and drinks, and taking an evening kayak tour.
Sunset
St. Croix’s sunset is stunning, and there are many ways to enjoy it.Â
Beach sunset - Relaxing on the beach is one of the best ways to watch the sunset. While all the beaches on St. Croix are beautiful, we recommend watching the sunset from a beach on the island's west side or north shore. The sunset is breathtaking from Rainbow Beach out west or Cane Bay Beach on the north shore – both have restaurants if you want to enjoy dinner and drink while watching the sunset.
Horseback riding - Ride horses with Cruzan Cowgirl through the rainforest and to the beach for a unique sunset experience. This is a guided adventure that lasts 1.5 to 2 hours.
Sunset ATV tour - Gecko’s Island Adventure offers a guided ATV tour at sunset, and it’s one of the best St. Croix excursions. You can take a two-and-a-half-hour tour through the rainforest and past sugar mill ruins. Then, finish your adventure at the beach with a glass of champagne at sunset.
Lyric Sails - Watch the sunset from a 63-foot custom catamaran, Jolly Mon, which departs from the Frederiksted Pier. Lyric Sails offers picture-perfect scenery, live music, unlimited rum punch, and a cash bar.
Sunset times vary throughout the year – usually around 6 PM during fall and winter, 6:30 PM during spring, and 7 PM during summer. Guided activities are based around sunset time.
Dinner & Drinks
St. Croix’s food and drink scene is delicious and one of the best things to do on St. Croix at night.
Some of our favorite places to enjoy dinner include:

La Reine Chicken Shack - A family-run restaurant and local’s favorite spot for chicken, BBQ ribs, fried seafood and more

Virgin Kayak Tours
One of the most unique things to do on St. Croix at night for couples, singles, families, and friends is kayaking the Salt River Bay with Virgin Kayak Tours.
The Bioluminescence Kayak Tour is the most popular kayaking experience. This evening tour takes you through one of only ten studied superglow bioluminescent bays in the world. A guide will lead your group on a peaceful adventure to see a rare and magical underwater light.
On nights when the bioluminescence glow isn’t super visible due to the moon’s light, you can enjoy the Sunset and Moonlight Biobay Tour. This experience is the perfect way to relax while enjoying the sunset, beautiful scenery, and unique ecological features like the red mangrove trees.
Each nighttime kayaking experience with Virgin Kayak Tours is fun for people of all ages. You can appreciate the tranquil atmosphere while learning about local history, culture, and the biobay.
Best of all, Virgin Kayak Tours’ pedal kayaks are easy for all levels and age groups to operate, sturdy, and comfortable – making for an enjoyable evening!

How to Get Around St. Croix at Night
It’s best to rent a car when visiting St. Croix so you can easily get around. If you plan to drive around St. Croix at night, be extra mindful of other drivers and driving on the left side of the road.
If you’re new to St. Croix’s rough roads and driving on the other side of the road, we recommend exploring close to your accommodation at night or getting a taxi.
While taxis are available on St. Croix, they can be expensive and difficult to come by, especially at night. If you plan to rely on a taxi or VI Hail, make arrangements before heading out for the night.
