We offer Taino pit fired ceramic classes to small groups during our Eco-Adventure week. Students learn to use locally harvested clay, to design their very own Taino styled work of art. Local artist, Bryan Updyke takes you through the process, step by step; so it's easy for everyone. We start you out by taking you on a tour through our Caribbean Indigenous Art Museum, to give you the history of native crafts. Then we take a little hike through the forest to harvest some clay. You'll then have a few hours to perfect your work of art. At week's end, we fire the pieces in a pit-fire and celebrate.
